Dr. Caroline Gugliemetti has recently been awarded the 9th Annual Bruce Hasegawa Excellence in Biomedical Research Award. The annual Hasegawa Award recognizes a Radiology and Biomedical Imaging graduate student or postdoctoral scholar exemplifying the scope and quality of investigation demonstrated by Dr. Hasegawa during his career. Dr. Gugliemetti is a second-year postdoctoral scholar who has been conducting her research in the Chaumeil Lab. Dr. Gugliemetti’s research is centered around determining the role of metabolic impairment in the progression of cerebral diseases, particularly Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and to identify clinically relevant biomarkers of progression and therapeutic response.
