Dr. Freitas received her B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles in World Arts and Cultures, with a minor in Environmental Science. While at UCLA, she played club soccer and created a research project based on ecotourism and sea turtles in Costa Rica. After completing her undergraduate studies, Nina worked as a PT Aide in a San Francisco physical therapy private practice, volunteered at UCSF Faculty Practice at Mission Bay, and coached competitive youth soccer in the East Bay. In 2013, she moved to Boston to obtain her Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Freitas has spent the last two years working in a hospital based outpatient clinic in Boston, Massachusetts prior to moving to back to San Francisco.
When not working, Nina enjoys running (she has run 2 marathons and is training for Chicago 2018), playing soccer, and traveling.
Dr. Freitas has experience treating a wide range of diagnosis in the outpatient setting, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, vestibular, and concussions. She also has experience working with the pediatric orthopedic and sports population. Currently, Nina is primarily working with orthopedics at the Orthopedic Faculty Practice.
