2020-2021 Academic Year
Sean Donnelly earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University School of Medicine in May 2018. After graduation he began his career with Cone Health, treating in the acute setting in a mid-sized trauma center in Greensboro North Carolina. Sean is grateful for the opportunity to join UCSF and advance his practice through the Acute Care Physical Therapy Residency Program. While not working with patients, Sean enjoys traveling, tennis, golf, hiking, cooking, and playing his guitar.
Cathy Mariani was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended Mercy High School in Burlingame, CA where she took an anatomy class that sparked her interest in the health sciences. Upon graduation, Cathy attended Regis University in Denver, CO and majored in Health and Exercise Science and minored in Neuroscience. In between undergraduate studies and physical therapy school, she completed a year as a Rehabilitation Aide in a physical therapy clinic in Denver. Cathy returned to Regis University to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and as a PT student, she began to have a passion for acute care physical therapy as a result of her physiology courses and an 8 week clinical rotation in a hospital. She is excited to return to her hometown as a resident in UCSF’s Acute Care PT program. Cathy has always had a passion for volunteer work and has traveled to Tanzania for three weeks in August 2019 to provide physical therapy services for individuals living in rural communities. When Cathy is not treating patients, some of her hobbies include art projects such as stained glass as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and running.
