Current Students

Jessica Bath

Jessica received a B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology and is a 2020 graduate of UCSF/SFSU's DPT program. She enrolled in the PhD program after a stint in clinical PT practice, and is interested in regenerative therapies as well as adaptive deep brain stimulation for neurodegenerative conditions, especially PD. Outside of the lab, Jessica enjoys running, hiking, dog park hangs with her Husky mutt, Mia, and finding the best brunch spots in SF with the shortest lines. Megan McClune

Megan received a B.S. in Biology from Providence College. She worked in the Chaumeil Lab her first quarter studying Magnetic Resonance metabolic imaging to detect oxidative stress. In the Winter, she will study mechanisms of recovery after spinal cord injury in the Laboratory for CNS Repair. Outside of the lab, she enjoys camping, exploring local bookstores, and (watching) live stand up comedy.

Cayce Shaw

Cayce received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Cruz and is currently a Ph.D. candidate under supervision of Dr. Dena Dubal. Her thesis studies the epigenetics of the inactive X chromosome during brain aging and its role in resilience against age-related neurodegenerative disease. Following her NCAA soccer career, Cayce continues to play soccer with the SF Nighthawks WPSL team and coaches youth soccer teams.  ( )
