There are a number of internal and external funding mechanisms available to students, including the following.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity brings new perspectives, new approaches, and new insights. Our program strongly believes that diversity is essential for successful science. We recognize that racism and inequities are present in science and academia, and we are striving to address those inequities in our own laboratory environment and in the broader UCSF community. Our program is committed to welcoming and supporting people from all cultures and identities.

Our program proudly supports faculty, staff, and students from across the the US and around the world including, France, Italy, China, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Current and past department members have been a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and currently, 51% of faculty identify as women. Despite this, we recognize the need to expand representation of all scientists in our program, and our recruitment efforts are reflective of this.
