Second-year DPT students from PT 704: Education, Health Promotion, Wellness, and Prevention in Physical Therapy, developed their own lesson plans and learning objectives, and executed a dynamic one-hour instruction to participants at their assigned community agency. Instructional topics were related to health promotion, wellness, and/or prevention.
On Monday, January 29, the third-year DPT students along with faculty members Theresa Jaramillo, PT, MS, DPT, and Casey Nesbit, PT, DPT, DSc, PCS, went to Sacramento for the CPTA Student Legislative Day. The students were treated to great presentations from state and federal leaders in advocacy for our profession, and then were then split into small groups with students from other programs who had similar permanent residency addresses.
Don Sokolski, MS PT, has been an essential member of the teaching team in the UCSF/SFSU DPT curriculum since 1994. He is the Course Director for PT 720 Cardiopulmonary Pathokinesiology, where he teaches the students a problem-solving approach to the evaluation and treatment of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunctions.
