The campus staff team had a remarkable year in 2024, bringing several major initiatives to life while establishing a solid foundation for continued momentum in 2025.
Serving Community – They kicked off the year with a group volunteer day at Project Open Hand, where members from both the academic and operations teams came together to serve the community. It was a rewarding experience for everyone, and they plan to participate in more volunteer opportunities together in the future.
DEI-AO-AR – In addition, they expanded their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Oppression, Anti-Racism (DEI-AO-AR) book club into a multimedia club. Each month, a different team member selects an article, podcast or other media to share and discuss with the group. This has afforded them more opportunities to hear different stories and share ideas and resources with one another as they learn together.
Engagement – Staff engagement continues to be a top priority. Insights gained from the Gallup survey will inform their future goals and staff engagement initiatives. In the coming months, they will focus on creating space for professional development and wellness by sharing career paths with one another and launching a staff “how-to” series featuring wellness activities provided by team members.
They also aim to strengthen their professional networks, both on campus and beyond, and expand their career horizons through informational interviews with colleagues outside the department.
