Climbing the Rankings in US News & World Report and NIH Funding

The UCSF/SFSU Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program has ascended four points in the US News & World Report rankings, now standing tied as the 21st best graduate program in the nation out of 245 programs. Furthermore, our department has soared from 26th in 2022 to 9th in 2023 as one of the top NIH-funded rehabilitation departments in the country, as compared to Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation departments nationally.

"These achievements demonstrate the dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment of every member of the DPTRS family," said Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Chair Amber Fitzsimmons, PT, MS, DPTSc. "The relentless pursuit of excellence in education and training, combined with the groundbreaking research, impactful community engagement, and unparalleled dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, has truly set us apart."

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these remarkable accomplishments. Together, we continue redefining excellence in physical therapy education and rehabilitation practice.
