During the past year at UCSF/SFSU, I have been committed to a a year-long research experience, working alongside my classmate Andrew Tran, and several faculty and researchers, including Rich Souza, PT, PhD and Hsiang-Ling (Sharon) Teng, PT, PhD. We began this project in January 2014, and over the past year, I have participated in research at almost every step of the process.
Program graduate Inna Belogolovsky has been published in the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy! Her article, entitled "The Effectiveness of Exercise in Treatment of Pregnancy-Related Lumbar and Pelvic Girdle Pain: A Meta-Analysis and Evidence-Based Review," is based on the research she conducted during her third-year evidence-based project.
Earlier this fall, the physical therapists and staff in the Outpatient Faculty Practice took time out of their work to participate in a team building exercise - bubble soccer! This event was coordinated by Cathy Hoang, PT, DPT, OCS, Staff Physical Therapist and Teresa Reyes, Practice Assistant. Thank you to both Cathy and Teresa for organizing a healthy, outdoor team-building activity!
Associate Professor, Betty Smoot, PT, DPTSc, MAS, was featured in the October 2015 edition of the Anatomy Now newsletter, the official newsletter of the American Association of Anatomists. Dr. Smoot provides faculty interested in submitting abstracts to the Experimental Biology meeting of the AAA some much-needed advice on how to craft a successful abstract!
