Join us on November 6, 2024, from 4:00pm-5:00pm Pacific Time, to find out more about our four PT residency programs.  Residency directors and alumni will be presenting and answering questions on each of the programs.

Admissions Requirements

Eligibility

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program or currently enrolled and in good standing in a DPT program with expected graduation date by June (or the deadline to sit for the NPTE in July)
  • Proof of licensure or Physical Therapy Licensed Applicant (PTLA) status by the Physical Therapy Board of California by program start date. If you are a PTLA, you must complete the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) within 90 days of being granted PTLA status by the PT Board of California per the California Physical Therapy Practice Act, Section 2655.93.
  • Must meet requirements to be employed as a practicing PT at UCSF Health. UCSF does not have the ability to sponsor visas for this program. Candidates must be able to demonstrate work eligibility for the duration of the program to be considered for acceptance.

Application Process and Timeline

Timeline

  • October 1, 2024: Applications open for Fall 2025 (apply in the centralized application service RF-PTCAS)
  • February 15, 2025: Deadline to apply for Fall 2025
  • February/March 2025: Applications reviewed
  • March 2025: Selected applicants invited for interviews via email
  • April 2025: All applicants notified of application status

Interviews

  • Selected applicants will be invited for an interview via email, typically in March.
  • The interview is a required part of the application process. If you decline our invitation or do not RSVP by the specified deadline, your application will be canceled and you will not be considered for admission.
